Stewardship
.
It starts here!  What does that mean?  Life has its cycles and it can be particularly difficult when many of us are concerned about certain things (like the economy) at the same time.  But Stewardship starts here!  We know that we can bring our worries and concerns to Christ, here at St. Anne's. Here, in this place, we focus on scripture that has spoken to many for thousands of years:  "Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life; what you shall eat or what you shall drink, nor about your body, what you shall put on.. . " (Matthew 6:25)  Here we struggle with what it means to listen to God, and to be faithful to the financial resources in our care.     The ministry of our Stewardship Committee right now is to encourage all of us to look at our abundance and become free from our attachment to cultural values regarding money and to live out joyfully God's call for our lives and resources.

We will be having an Every Member Canvass on Sunday, October 26th in which committed members of St. Anne's will try to meet with every member of the congregation to relate why we are excited about St. Anne's, to hear each members thoughts, and to answer any questions members may have.  We will also be delivering the Pledge Commitment card for 2009 at that time.

This is the one time each year that we ask everyone to prayerfully consider what each plans to give for the coming year's operating budget.  In order to do that faithfully, we ask that each considers the concept of proportionate giving in order to work toward the tithe.

Proportionate Giving

Why should we Tithe?

During this month we will be having sermonettes at each service by members of the Church, sharing their thoughts on the purpose and meaning of this process.
